  1. so is there any possibility to find the right amount of cancer to make the cells last forever yet not lose control of proliferation?
  2. ok so my first theory of some animals i guess wasnt very correct, but i took a look at the list of things, and would it be POSSIBLE and i stress this because i know it would take a LONG time before we understand how to do it, but i mean could we somehow slow down the natural growth of our bodies and through that nature it make take maybe 20 years for someone to reach a normal age of 10, and if that were to happen then it would allow them for a much higher rate of learning in the long run right?
  3. ok, i don't have any exact details about this subject or how it might work and i'm sure there's much more to it than just dna, but my question is Do you think eternal life is possible? k, now once you answer that, consider this. eternal life IS possible on what sort of basis you put it at. My theory is from looking at animals that SEEMINGLY live forever I.E. sea turtle or squid. Now these animals are still capable of dieing at any time. But to my knowledge they have an incredibly large lifespan. Now what if you were to take whatever process involved in that animal and through either natural or scientific methods transfer that aspect to more intelligent species - not necessarily humans but making a dog that is capable of living forever. This eventually would take maybe hundreds of years, but when you think about the outcome it would seem worth it to most people. Now there will be a lot of processes about this kind of thing that i dont know about such as how things like sea turtles and squids can live for so many years, but im guessing it would require a lot of changes to how (test animal) would operate its vital systems. at this rate it would take quite a while and be very complicated. Sorry for making you read the entire spiel but think about the possibility of eternal life and how much that would actually be worth and most importantly is it really a possibility if not now then in how long?
  4. sweet, so what kind of a process would it take to actually mix the dna together (equipment, matierial, how to do i, ect)
  5. well i do agree that at the moment we are not close to changing such dna but if some one would like to simply answer my question that it indeed IS possible to create a creature bread of a bad and a lizard?
  6. just spent a chunk of free time reading up on the gmo's and its looking like it may be possible to genetically cross breed animals, allthough you may have some trouble with the government> but i just recently got the idea of scientists actually making a breed of animal similar to a dragon (looks) allthough all i can see at the moment for the gmos is that most or the worlds scientists are too busy working on plant life and learning how to create bug resistant crops as compared to creating a who new species of animal!
  7. i read through the first little part of that and it says that the genotype parts of dna are the looks which is the only thing we are trying to change but it also says that the dna is mixed during reproduction so if u actually mixed 2 animals the "old fashioned way" they would end up with the genotype of the female and maybe the phenotype of the male, which is why you would have to genetically alter the females genotype dna to create a new species? also ive heard about this kind of treatment being done with fish, creating new patterns and designs on them, even one experiment where they successfully created glow in the dark fish
  8. it seems totally sci fi but i was just wondering, is it phisically possible to mix animals through dna? i was thinking of if u could, transform the dna and then mix that with something like stem cells could you play god and create your own new creature? im guessing no but id like a scientific view to it all, and maybe if it was possible to even somehow mix say, a bat and a lizard to create a dragon-like creature (and i only mean physical looks like it would be the size of a baseball and would not breath fire, and maybe not even possess the ability to fly...)
  9. relative to this, if you do travel that fast and age slower do you actually stay in the same state of time as an observer? or would say a year to the observer be like a second to you (with whatever speed is needed). also, id like to clear up that traveling backwards in time is impossible, my reason for this being the fact that if some1 DID invent a time capsle or whatever they could have come bak in time and told us that they invented it, and considering time is endless either the human race dies out before one can be invented or, some1 who did invent one would find a way to keep it nder wraps the entire time which does seem highly unlikely. travelling forward in time does seem very interesting, do you know what it would do if you were instead of "moving" fast, spinning around fast?
