  1. I will agree to this. However, if Earth life ends before then, I think it will be due to an asteroid or a large natural storm. I don't think it's possible for us to kill ourselves off (wars, economy etc); at most, we will just be regressed back to a primitive "sticks and stones" era. An asteroid or some abnormal heat wave are the highest probably of instant destruction, in my opinion, which is still extremely low.
  2. Oh yeah, why didn't I think of that before? *sigh* For one, I don't even know what school I will be attending (or what schools are in this area for that matter) and I sent an e-mail to a couple of people at the University (even though I can't afford this) about a month ago and I haven't heard back from any of them. I asked the program director at my college and she says that it varies for all colleges and depends on my credits, but it is possible. So my last option was to hopefully get a simple response, basically saying "yes, it's possible to go from Information Technology to Physics" or "No, you must start over" I'm going to assume it is possible, at least if the credits are broad enough.
  3. So it does depend on the school and how they work things? The trade school I go to now only offers AAS degree programs right now. So I will need to change schools, that's where it becomes an issue. I will try to talk with someone when I go to sign up for my next degree. I was hoping I could get this done now so I have time to think about it and figure out what my options are. Thanks though.
  4. Perhaps if someone could at least suggest a direction for me. I will be starting for my bachelors in X near the end of 2007. I know more about computers than anything else (networking, PCs etc..), yet I am only interested in physics, evolutionary biology, and nanotechnology. My goal is to eventually grab a doctorates or at least a masters, but I don't want to do it by playing with PCs for the rest of my life. I don't want to start over, which is why I am seeking a possibility of a gradual education change as I move up in degrees. Any input would be great.
  5. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quorn Pretty self explanatory.
  6. Indeed. If such an equation was proposed by Hawking, there would be much more attention drawn to it. There's no telling what people are developing now though. We could be in for some amazing breakthroughs at any moment. That is why the world of science is so exciting.
  7. Greetings, I have a few questions that I can't seem to find with research. I get my AAS in Computer Science in October (mostly network support) I want to continue on and get my BS, but what other options do I have besides computers? I find myself drifting away from computers and more in to physics, biology and theology. Do I have to choose computers, does it depend on the school, or what? Is it possible to go from AAS in Computer Science to a general Science BS degree, then from there move to a MS/PhD that doesn't deal with computers? I don't really know anything about degrees, I sorta jumped right in to college and now it's way too easy and I don't think I'm learning as much as I could if I was taking something else.
  8. Koala in Denmark eating an Orange... what's that... 10 percentile?
  9. Broccoli is extremely cheap and it would be really good when mixed with rice. I think milk could be substituted with green tea, at least 1 gallon of it. Heavy foods like potatos, crackers, and pasta are really good for filling you up on a budget. I think eating nothing but rice would suck, you could get half rice and half pasta. This is a really good idea, I'll have to try this sometime.
  10. I recall hearing about a nice simple equation as the theory of everything, but I don't know if it was Hawkings, or even if it was real. I think if this was a legit equation, we would hear about it for sure. There have been many claims of a "Theory of Everything," but they have all been disproved as far as I know. Hawkings did however, make a big speech at Berkely recently about some of his new theories (like the beginning of the universe) and he promoted his new book "A Briefer History of Time" But I dunno about this ToE.
