  1. I know that 5 vol H2O2 is equal to 0.44moldm-3. in my experiment i used 5cm3 of 5vol. i then diluted this, using 4cm3 of 5 vol H2O2 and 1cm3 distilled H2O. How do i work out the concentration of this? I have tried various methods and...(this may be stupid and very wrong but i wanted to show i'd tried!) if 4 is 80% of 5 then can you find 80% of 0.44? - meaning 4cm3 H2O2 + 1cm3 H2O would have a concentration of 0.32 moldm-3..is this correct? through this method i have worked out that: 3cm3 H2O2 + 2cm3 H2O = 0.264 moldm-3 2cm3 H2O2 + 3cm3 H2O = 0.176 moldm-3 1cm3 H2O2 + 4cm3 H2O = 0.08 moldm-3 0.5cm3 H2O2 + 4.5cm3 H2O = 0.044 moldm-3 Help greatly appreciated!
  2. so if you had to write out the structure for ozone, would it be represented with O-O=O or O-O-O with dotted lines representing the resonance structure? Thank you very much for the above explanation - I think I'm getting there with understanding!!
  3. I'm trying to write out the reaction mechanism for the formation of acid rain from atmospheric nitrogen. I know the general equations to go through but when it comes to showing the movement of electrons with 'curly arrows' I get stuck! so far this is what i have: 1. O + N≡N → N=O + N 2. N + O=O → O + N=O 3. 2N=O + O=O → 2O=N=O 4. N=O + O=O=O → O=O + O=N=O 5. O=N=O + O-H → H=O=N=O ¦¦ O I know that electrons from the triple bond of the nitrogen in step 1 move to one N atom and this means that the O is attracted to the other N and they form NO. I can also complete number 2 (i think) as it is the same as above, with different compounds. It's number 3 onwards that cause the problems. any help appreciated!
