  1. Maybe, ill see if I can buy some. But I thought it would be cool to have one flaming reaction set off another one
  2. Iron(II,III) oxide powder (not sure of mesh) and indian blackhead aluminum powder 2-4 micron.
  3. Will the flame produced by a Potassium chlorate/sugar reaction reach a high enough temperature to initiate a thermite reaction?
  4. Im not sure if it applies to HNO3, but in a 37% HCl solution, aluminum (Al Foil) reacts rather violently, producing H2 gas.
  5. Yeah Im not exactly sure, it might be inhibition of expression of the tumor supresor genes, I just remember it having something to do with Tumor supressors.
  6. I am pretty sure that there are COX-Inhibitors that are actually used for treating cancer. I remember reading, not to long ago, that a few scientists substituted a couple silicon atoms for carbon atoms in Indometacin and the new chemical was suprisingly less toxic and more effective at killing cancer cells (ecspecially pancreatic). It also said that Indometacin itself is used for cancer because, for reasons not yet clearly understood, it kills cancer cells. I read further into the use of NSAID for cancer and found that they cause greater expression of tumor supressor genes (Im not exactly sure myabe someone else can ellaborate more on the subject).
  7. Hello, I was wondering if hydrochloric acid (~.008M) could be used instead of sulphuric acid to initiate the reaction between patassium chlorate and sugar.
