  1. beside Registry' date=' Can Windows Scripting be powerful to control windows?

    ALbert[/quote']

Nothing can be really powerful at controling Windows, you have to do things the way windows wants you to. Thats why everyine hates it.

Unless you are writing programs that use the registry, and if you are there are probably better ways to write the program (like .ini for settings insteadt of the registry), the registry really is not all that important.

  2. Most English words have their root in Latin' date=' and a lot of Latin words are the root of more than one English derivative.

It's not uncommon either for languages to have words with different - often opposing - meanings.[/quote']

If most english words are from latin why is it considered a germanic language ?

  3.

Does computer first go to Dos' date=' then Dos goes to Xp ,right?

    Albert[/quote']

No, thats what we are trying to explain, it just goes straight to XP. Dos simply doesn't exist. They include a Dos emulator for compaitibility reasons only. Dos serves absolutly NO purpose as far as the operation of the computer.

  4. Microsoft don't care if you paid for the license or not. They only make serious money off corporate licensing - anything else' date=' and they aren't bothered because you're using THEIR product.

In fact they even recently announced that the next service pack for Windows XP will be available to illegal users of the software, because contrary to common belief they aren't actually a company without any brains.[/quote']

Could you please explain to me the advantage to encouranging pirating by allowing illegal users to update their systems ?

  5. Yeah but isnt learning DOS easier that assembly language?

Thats hardly realavent given that learnign DOS wont get you anywhere, Windows 2000 and XP do not have DOS at all, therefore unless you are workingwith 9x systems DOS is useless.

  6. it is still very important to learn as part of understanding computer.............

    Albert

How so ? Dos doesn't even exist in the latest versions of Windows. Unless you are trying to understand a 486 you really don't need to know alot about dos.

  7. So......If we have the source code of any linux program' date=' and compile under windows, [i']Does that mean that program can work on Windows kernel literally?[/i]

    Any body?

I dont think that linux programs are written in the same progrming language as windows programs... so you wouldnt find a windows compliler.

  8. IQ is your learning potential, not how smart you are. You might now more than your girlfriend about many subjects but if you are presented the same material and neither of you has had previous exposure to the material your girlfroend would learn the material faster, that is why she has a higher IQ.
