  1. NEW CANADIAN INSTITUTE TO BRING PHILOSOPHERS AND SCIENTISTS TOGETHER TO ANSWER THE WORLD'S TOUGH QUESTIONS AND SOLVE WORLDWIDE CHALLENGES London, Ontario, October 15, 2010. Philosophers think through difficult questions regarding science and technology before they catch the public's eye -- whether considering the legal or ethical consequences of technological innovations before they hit the market, or debating the appropriate goals of publicly funded research in a democracy. Scientists have the expertise and knowledge to develop solutions to many of the challenges we face in the modern world.
