  1. buffalos produced even more and we got rid of most of them. its a ballance.
  2. there is a theory (some say crankcase, but who really knows, the wright bothers were called cranks) that all of time exist in a single point, and its only the perception that makes it appear to flow. that means the big bang, and the final entroy occured simultaniously. everything in between was just percieved to happen in order. according to this theory, to travel in time, only perception must be altered. another theory is that if you were to go into the past, you might change things, but unless you were extreamly agile about it, something would happen to make it seem the same. example is that if you went back into to stop booth from assisnating president lincon, some else would kill him, perhaps accidently, and booth would get the blame. its all theory, until someone gets hurt.
  3. ive always wondered something when ppl discuss the earths center as being a iron core. at that depth, and that tempature, how can anything, including iron, be solid. it would seem to me that the center would be molten iron nickle, not solid iron nickle. if thats the way it is, then the molten metal would be attempting to move along the magnetic lines, but would reach a point where they could not move after north and south then be pushed out to wards the poles by more molten metal moving outwards. couple this with the spin of the core and the fact that its not uniform, and there is plenty of chance for the core to change its polarity with no new theories needed to explain it.
  4. Forensicmad, not neccissary. in the potter book, he only survived because he had help from the future. if something had prevented him from returning, he would not have been there to aid him. the terminator on the other hand cant happen. in order for the computer to send him back the first time, it had to have things happen that would not have been possible, if he not been sent back. then the second one came back, and destroyed the things the first left so there was no way the machine could be made, so it could not send him back the first time. then the third one came and created the situation that made it possble for the computer to do what it did. the loops on this was far too complex. on the other hand, considering that we have ways of watching things that ppl dont recognize now, how do you know that when it happen the first time, you werent there watching it again from a distance. Neil9327. there is a theory that memory is a form of time travel, and if you can utilize it right you can travel into any part of your past. so if that is correct, time travel can go into the past.
  5. let me point out something. all the carbon we are putting into the atmosphere once came from the atmosphere. 2.1 million years ago the glaceral age cause many trees to be buryed before they could biodegrade. had nature had its way, those trees would never have put the coal and gas underground in the first place. all we are doing is helping the earth return to its preglaceral period. yes we are helping it faster, but we are not the cause of it.
  6. if man is responsible for global warming, what cause it to start 14000 years ago.
  7. there is something that all of you ppl that are jumping on this with such negativity are completely overlooking. the earth is currently in an ice age. yes, an ice age. we are in the final part of it infact. out species has evolved completely in that ice age. when it ends the earth will be just like it was 2.2 million years ago. that is unless another super valcano blast us back into the deep freeze. yes it will not be good for mankind, but its the way the earth is. the earth is not a true paradise for us, but we can make it such. perhaps the answer is to leave the earth.
  8. after i suffered some minor problems from a mini stroke, i found that puzzles helped me get back some of the analitical capacity i had lost. like the saying goes, use it or lose it.
  9. ive heard there was evidence of a bug of some kind that killed off a lot of the dinos premeteor. dont ask me to prove it though. weakened animals would have a harder time surviving the event.
  10. the thing is, it may not be possible to stop it, but we should be able to lessen the damage. the main damage is the cloud of sulphic dixoide ice that will cover the earth. it will cause the long winter that last for more than a decade and will have effects for more than that. if the sulpher dixoide could be broken up, the sulpher would be more dense and will fall out faster. it will also absorb more heat than sulpher dioxide will. we could conseivably reduce the winter to a few years, making it easier for mankind to survive. civilization as we know it will be lost, but humans would have a chance to go on.
