  1. What would you predict to be the approximate chemical shifts for the following molecule? I just turned my room upside down trying to find an old sheet, and the one that I do have seems to be a little off. Help please?

    Free ipod?

The shuffle feature is optional: you can choose the order in which the songs are placed on the iPod if you want, and you can choose to play them in order. It was designed for athletes, so there is very little need for an LCD display. The macmini is a G4, so it should be pretty powerful-- the reason it is so cheap is because it doesn't have an expensive monitor (which makes up much of the cost for other macs) and keyboard/mouse, so people who have yet to experience macs or who have laptops, but don't want to fully upgrade can use what they likely have laying around the house (i mean, really, who doesn't have an extra monitor/keyboard laying around) to use with a brand new computer.

    Free ipod?

It works-- my roomate got one last year, and I'm hoping it will work for me. Anyone want to try? I'll complete an offer for anyone who completes an offer for me. (just PM me after you do so) http://www.FreeiPodShuffle.com/?r=14108127
  4. Do not underestimate the difficulty of getting into physician assistant's programs. The vast majority (if not all) of the people who apply and are accepted to these programs have been working in health for several years, if not more. Most programs REQUIRE that you have a year or more(at least 250+ hours) of work in one of the allied health fields (EMT, nursing, etc). Its nearly impossible to get into a PA program straight out of college with only limited volunteer experience, and I think that its a waste. The basic premise of the PA program is to build on significant past medical experience. Yes, there are programs that don't require it, but those programs are sketchy. Shadowing a PA is definitely a good idea, and perhaps s/he can give you some advice on what path to take.
  5. Definitely apply at your school or at other schools first. I was able to do summer research at Rockefeller the summer after my freshman year, so you just have to research the REU programs that look specifically for freshmen and sophomores. You can't expect to get an industry internship without doing some type of research first.

  7. Thanks all of you; I'll definitely be contacting you if I have any problems.
  8. If I decide to pursue chemistry, MIT would be great. However, if I decide to go for biomedical research, Mayo or Rockefeller are my first choices.

    Need advice.

Run before class! This keeps me energized attentive all day (w/o caffiene). Also eat breakfast every morning, and have (healthy) snacks between classes
  10. Though this is not technically my first post, I thought I'd introduce myself to you all. I'm currently a sophomore biochemistry & molecular biology major at a small liberal arts college in Virginia. I love science, and hope to someday teach chemistry at the undergraduate/graduate level and research. I work and research in the environmental science department of my college, and fence sabre. See you all around!
  11. How much emphasis is placed on advanced organic or inorganic chemistry? I am a biochemistry major, but i am planning to apply to chemistry PhD programs. As of now (I'm a sophomore), I'm not planning on taking these courses.
  12. I attended the NC School of Science and Mathematics (which was the first in the nation). It is an awesome opportunity... plus, you will be able to go to any college you want. PM me if you want more specific information.
