  1. Consider this. I say in ten minutes I'm going to jump up and down. Instead of doing it in ten minutes I do it now, thus time traveled. However time cannot be a prooven existence and yet it can. It all really depends on perspective I suppose. If you mean can I jump into a machine and go tens of thousands of light years into the future, again back to my first analogy. You don't even need a machine to time travel. Just a few fun thoughts. Experiment with them and see the results for yourself.

Yes, yes..its time to think about our own species. Are we destined for the big check out soon?

Will an asteroid do us in, like one did for the dinos.

(Whispers:) They say the big one is coming in 2014.

Or will some super Virus, like Captain Trips in King's The Stand, do us all in or a super Alien Invasion for our precious metals or maybe just water be our demise?

Will one day we be nothing more than a gigantic archelogical dig for some aliens?

First and formost we must understand the age in which we live in, the age of suicide. With scientific technology on the brink of enhancement unlike anything we've ever seen(genetic cloning and such) it is very unprobable that the human race will ever completley die out. Millions have died already and look at the numbers of the planet. Many also argue we are over populated but don't worry, more will die. Humans are self-destructive animals by nature anyhow. I say drop the fear.

Most decent people pay. we OWE it to ourselves and others to make every effort not to repeat these things again, and it`s such a small a price really. I can partly understand (though not agree with) the concept of `Hell`, because when such people as the nazis seemingly apear to get away with it, there must be some personal consolation in beleiving that they`ll spend eternity in a bad place.

I would like to argue that the Nazis did not get away with their mistakes. They were stripped of their power, they did die in the end. They did not get away with anything. More importantly, they were not duplicated which also shows a sign of being conquered.

I agree with you for the most part, learn from others mistakes. Often you will find people falling into the cycles of stupidity and continue to make the same mistakes others have. It is important to never forget mistakes to learn from them Here and Now , for here and now is what's important.

Death is a great nothingness, once you die, you're dead for the most part. I personally don't agree with the concept of life through death. This would defete the purpose of wisdom.

Yes i guess all experiences are real--- they are really things being percieved by your brain, however that comes about. But i think what Kedas is trying to point out is that what ever that reality is, you cannot assume certain laws apply to it: if this happens, this follows, by law of this reality. If you cannot know how this reality is generated, you cannot know that one day it will not begin to defy all its previous 'laws'.

What law be of hire than the law of self preservation?

Law is established to uphold order, no law would mean chaos and no universe can stand on chaos. All law is established around survival of the fittest, thus the food chain. I do know how this reality is generated. I wouldn't make such statements if I didn't.

I don't want to sound offensive but I'm choosing my own friends. :)

I don't agree and I don't think that I'm able to convince you.

Not a problem, I just simply ment my friend as a means of courtesy.

You can't convince me because by stating experiences are not real is like stating that getting burned in the fire when standing in it is not real. I cannot deny that which I verify.

DarkApostle, lived through doesn't mean verifiable. You can't verify a personal experience with anyone else.

I agree, you can only varify things for yourself to yourself, all else is faith. However once lived through and it is experienced then bedrock! You can't deny what you experience because to do so is stupidity. A good friend of mine once said, "it takes willingness to accept the truth after we have discovered it".

There is also what I like to call reasonable evidence. For example, if some idiot decided to jump off a building ten stories high and died, there is enough evidence to support that if you jump off of a building that high you will die. I'd rather not try to experience this but go with the evidence. This is called being wise. I never stated that what I experience must be real to you in order for it to be real to me, I stated all experiences are real.

I think you go a bit too far if you say that 'All experiences are real'

I would say all experiences are experiences notting more notting less.

besides which kind of definition of 'real' do you have?

Real;Being or occurring in fact or actuality; having verifiable existence.

Experience; An event or a series of events participated in or lived through.

    Definitions provided by http://www.yourdictionary.com

All experiences are real my friend.

You also couldn't prove the probability of it (whether being a dream or not). And yet some people say God is improbable----- they may have reasons behind saying so, but there is no scientific basis to proove the probability.

This may be true from your stand point but would you not agree with me that just because you haven't personally experienced something does not mean it's there? I don't mean the spiritual realm, such as the Heaven and Hell or any other bogus belief but rather personal experience. A baby has no idea what is and what isn't yet when a baby matures is not the world in which it lives altered as it grows? Experience is a basis. All experiences are real.

  10. Ah, dreams are so fragile and precious and yet many over look them for what they are. If you are in a dream you are experiencing a dream. Dreams are experiences.

I have read in an article of Popular Science as to how the memory does seem to create that which we forget with that which is familiar to us. I don't have the article off hand but will share it if any are interested further.

Memory has no place in dreams for memory indicates time and well, in my experience time is nonexistent in a dream. A moment in a dream can virtually seem like hours. Makes you wonder how old or young coma patience feel when they are awaken? I have experienced dreams and all experience is real. Just suppose there is another dimension in which your dream is taking place? This may sound foolish but then isn't science about experience? Another question, can you prove to me you are not dreaming right now? No you can't.

  11. First off, in my experience action means everything. No matter what it is action thats causes change in this univerese, obviously. However how can one be held responsible for something another has done? To me that's just an excuse and when it comes to excuses there are non there is only reason.

While we exist in a time frame (on an agreement level) we understand that it is time which records and keeps record, reality of action is unforgiving. Just as I read in the earthquake thread, the movements of one are felt by another at a later time, so it is with action. Some actions are felt upon impact others at a later time.
