So I was going through my usual routine of science webpages and reached the livescience.com article on the effectiveness of human gaits . However, they dont mention the mechanics of this 'third gait' they talk about. I cant find details anywhere. Any thoughts? Sounds like something I would like to try.

The languages to create robots and all that kinda stuff are forms of Assembly language. I've seen some simple code and it gets... complicated. It look very different from C. Unlike C, where "one written command == many computer commands", Assembly is a 1/1 relationship.

I think intelligent design does not fit into science classrooms at all. However, it would not bother me if it is taught in a philosophy class.

So aim provides this 'service' called "aimfight" at http://www.aimfight.com where you plug in two screennames and it compares the amounts of buddies existent in 3 friend levels. (or something along those lines). Here is the thing, you dont have to be an aim member in order to do the comparing. So, what is the trick behind it? It doesnt seem like aim would provide a passwordless way to retrieve the number of names in a user's buddy list. My point is, isnt this potentially dangerous in that crackers could retrieve 'buddy names' from a user's list without the need of a password? Or could this mean that people could actually message their friends without having to be logged in? what about being able to check user's profiles without to be signed in?

I think floppies are going away as more and more people use flash drives. Floppies are just not reliable, too many pieces moving. I have had various papers screwed up because of them. Also, whenever the file in them is close to their capacity chances are that at some point it will be corrupted. :::evil stare at floppies:::

I think AI will certainly reach our level and pass it with ease. We, for one thing, are limited by our brains, cannot upgrade add memory. Also, humans are known for happily killing their own braincells. If you look at the rate of evolution of AI, its just overwhelming. Computers double their power every year and a half. How fast are humans improving their brain power...? I think a major point of the issue is the dynamic nature of AI. The only way we could be smarter than AI woudl be AI implants.

oh not at all. What I have experienced using various OS's is that for some reason all of them are starting to look alike.

Progress has its risks. I believe that if we want to get farther in our knowledge of the world, we have to mess with it a little. Its just like a computer, you mess it up a couple of times before u can get a good hold of it.

The college I attend hates longhorns (competing school's mascot), so that'll make whoever buys OS's happy. and yeah... linux likes to surprise you sometimes, but most of the time is the user's fault; whereas windows, well, sometimes feels like crashin'.

we know gods are lawbreakers anyways. Its hard to explain the beginnigs of the universe through evolution, at least with biological evolution. But a god doesnt have to be a mighty mean. It can be a law, a spark, or something that got things started.

I am not too knowledgeable of 'gods of the world'. I consider myself and evolutionist. The christian god wouldnt fit. If I was to believe in a god, i would pick the deist god.
