  1. I am now a science writer, and I have been focusing on the science of photography. An excerpt of my work can be found at: http://luminous-landscape.com/essays/art2.shtml

At present I am concentrating on computational photography and the computational camera. These topics are the subject of courses in Computer Science Departments. What are the best textbooks, if any, in this area? Can you suggest good references? I am aware of online class notes from various universities.

  2. I am interested in the psychology of art creation and appreciation with special emphasis on photography. My photographic colleagues are not much interested in this line of thought, but I hope some of you are. I wonder what science can tell us about the hardwiring of our brains for judging composition, etc. I have found Gazzaniga's ideas in his book "Human" very helpful. I need more references and links.

Excerpts from my writings on this subject have been posted by Michael Reichmann at http://luminous-landscape.com/essays/art2.shtml

  3. Hello,

My main interest now is the science of photography. In particular I am interested in the human visual system and visual perception. To paraphrase Gazzaniga in his book "Human," I wonder if science can tell us whether art appreciation is hardwired in our brains.
