Hello, I knew I couldn't be the first to have this idea... I have been working on the design of just such an arrangement in the hopes larger a/c could scoop from the surface of lakes to reduce the number of airframe cycles and put more water on fires. The discovery of your work was very exciting. Please send me an email and I'll forward some ideas and a/c types being considered.
