How will you install differential pumping b/w the tube and the gas chamber and how will it will work.Please explain briefly

Well i am using a crt tube in which electrons are deflected by magnetic field.

How will you connect a cathode ray (5000v)(with a tube) to a chamber containing a type of gas such that the electrons in the tube moves into the chamber and the gas molecules do not enter the tube(thus disturbing the vacuum created.)
