Thank you for the help! Do you know what 'equivalent resistance' mean?

Tomorrow my school will be having final test. And this question is not for homework actually but there's something I don't understand for the test tomorrow. The question I would like to know is about formula of Volts, Ressistance and Ampere. This is the sample question I'm confused with: -What is the meaning of the term 'equivalent resistance'? I want to know how to find resistance in a circuit, or to find their potential different and current. Thank You for the help, I'm new here.
