  1. I just find it very strange that we can measure relativity through atomic clocks and then people automatically assume that we'd age differently because of speed just because the clocks move differently when they speed. I just can't make that mental jump. It makes no sense to me that ageing must be dependent upon a clock, or that just because a clock slows under certain conditions that the ageing process would slow too.

Well I am sorry but thats just what you have to accept.

StringJunky said it best: "Time is what clocks measure. A clock can be anything that has a rate of change, so an aging person can be a clock."

Yes, the only difference between an aging person or an opening flower etc is that a clock is finitely graduated so that we can measure elapsed time to a finer degree or  some arbitrary precision..

  2. What loophole do you mean exactly?

As a new member you are only allowed 5 posts in the first 24 hours. You have managed 8 so far. Congrats

  3. Hey, I can't seem to post anything new on the thread I started...I guess there's some posting restrictions on new members.

Anyhow, what is it about clock rate that would make people age differently? Couldn't aging be independent of clock rate? I'm sure there's no proof that age follows clock rate. A clock is just a measuring device.

So, just because relativity can be measured by a clock has little to do with aging, as far as I can tell.

i don't think there's a limit on post numbers. Perhaps one of the mods will post.

Time is what clocks measure. A clock can be anything that has a rate of change, so an aging person can be a clock.

Yes there is a 5 post limit for new members. It expires 24 hours after your membership began and your profile says that was 17 hours ago. So just be patient for 7 more hours.

I must say it was clever of you to find a loophole I would never have thought of it.:)
