  1. By the way Delta, why have you highjacked the entire subject in which I stated that the USA from the start of communications has hacked everything everywhere at any time possible? Why would you cast doubts on Wikileaks when even NBC didn't?
  2. My best friend who saved my life was a Federal Investigator, now on medical retirement since the stress of these jobs often causes heart problems as it did in him. He contends as other FBI contacts have told me that because of the almost total corruption of the Obama government including Comey that some 24 senior FBI members have resigned/retired because Hillary was not charged. They have incontrovertible evidence and if ANY mistakes had occurred the court could rule on that. There are so many criminal felonies that Hillary should be charged with that they are clear on this - there is two laws in the US: one for the common man and the other for the rich and powerful who do not need to worry about simple things like being law abiding. When even the Washington Post and the New York Times print articles on the incredible illegal activities of Hilary and not a single charge is filed just remember that when you get your next $500 rolling stop right turn on red when you slowed to less than one mph. Sorry, you have rejected it before knowing a single thing about it.
  3. Why do I have the suspicion that your dislike of Wikileaks has to do with the almost entire release of criminal actions turn out to be governments and most especially Obama and Hillary? I guess that shows what sort of direction you are tilting in. Don't look now but the actual FACT that the DNC, the Hillary Campaign and the MEDIA involved did NOT rebuke it is PROOF that this in fact, prima facie, occurred. Let's remember that the far left wing and the far right wing of our government are in full agreement that we need another cold war. Both of these sides are supported almost entirely by the military/industrial complex.
  4. You're not American and are taking the media's word for what he has said? Case closed.
  5. Well. I wonder exactly what is going on in your minds. Science is the job of being skeptical about everything ALL of the time. Even your own work might be wrong and every time you trust anyone else you could be putting everything you ever worked for in jeopardy. It doesn't matter whether you are the smallest technician or the highest PhD. I made the mistake of trusting other and on a couple of occasions it almost killed me. So I trust no one and nothing until I have convinced myself that I am acting correctly. We have absolutely NO way of knowing that "Russia" or any other nation was responsible for anything that Wikileaks released. What's MORE none of the information they released was denied by the DNC, the Hillary campaign or the media who were responsible for using unethical means to destroy Bernie Sanders chance at a nomination. Sanders was aware that this happened and yet then campaigned for Hillary. Does that sound moral? Now he'll have to suffer living in his six million dollar home and telling everyone else that socialism is a superior means of government. Whoever it was, they should be given a commendation from this entire nation of either party. Lying to the people of this country by the media and the political establishment HAS TO STOP. Secondly, exactly who is kidding who? The United States since the time of Reagan has hacked every single electronic communication device in the entire world. In the time of George Bush they actually recorded every single communication in the entire world CONTRARY to our Constitutional rights. Obama DOUBLED DOWN ON THIS until Citizens United took this before the Supreme Court and were ordered that they could not tap any citizen's communications without court orders. Russia interfered with American elections by telling the truth? The US has used matware intrusions into MANY governments. In Iran and North Korea they inserted viruses that caused the centrifuges separating U235 from U238 to break down. At one time a third of Iran's processing plants were broken down. How DARE anyone complain that WE might have to take electronic countermeasures to protect ourselves from what the entire rest of the world FRIEND AND FOE ALIKE has had to do from the moment that they began using the Internet seriously? To protect themselves from us. Do none of you who are supposed to be scientists even use your brains for anything other than doorstops when you are not inside your professional cocoons? Please think.
  6. Now that they are using carbon fiber everywhere including in commercial aircraft can anyone give educated answers to what occurs to the bonding of the resins to the carbon fiber over time? Of the bicycle failures I've see most of the failures occur after perhaps two or more years and the failure points do not show a clean break but more of a tearing which gives me the idea that the carbon fibers are losing their bonding to the resin. Of the failures that occur under two years the breaks appear to be clean as if there was a manufacturing error in which there was a bubble around which a fracture occurred. Answers to these questions could affect everything from automobile frames to commercial aircraft winglets. Can anyone give me an answer as to what is going on?
  7. Isn't that like saying "design it for me"? My ideas are my own.
  8. Firstly, let's discuss the validity of saying anything is a "greenhouse gas". There's really no such thing short of very rare gases. O2 is 21% of the atmosphere and has a higher latent heat content. To suggest that CO2 which composes 400 ppm or .04% of the atmosphere has significant effects and that only 25% of that is the real culprit is bordering on idiotic. Secondly, let's make it clear that warm periods occur every thousand years. We know of the Mycenaean, the Roman, the Medieval and the one we're presently in. Moreover this was began in 1886 long before man had the ability to effect anything. Thirdly, this is a water planet. Water in liquid or solid states covers 70% of the globe and composes some 4% of the atmosphere in gaseous or droplets. Add to this that water absorbs virtually ALL of the visible wavelength which is the largest component of the Sun's emission and virtually the entire IR band which is reflected and self generated heat of the Earth it is easy to see that the infinitesimal absorption of CO2 which is almost exactly between the Sun's emissions and the Earth's reflection is stretching things far beyond the breaking point. I have never seen 10 scientists in a room in which any one of them agreed fully with any other. And we're being told that 97% of scientists believe this? That was a fixed number from the outset. Of, what, 10,000 scientists questioned they used the opinions of only 77 of them to generate that silly number. Remember that they haven't successfully predicted one single thing since Al Gore switched from the great coming Ice Age to AGW.
  9. If you can take that much off of the weight of an engine that would truly be valuable. I go with Bender in that you should do a patent search (which requires a lawyer as well). It is just a waste of time if it has been previously patented unless you have actually made this work. But 80% off of the weight of an ICE is highly unlikely. You go to a lawyer for good NDA. This isn't something to be left to chance of you believe your new design would work. Do not pay attention to the idea that electric cars are going to take over the world. I'm quite sure that they will be extremely important in high population and inner cities. But batteries are and always will be a problem. Though perhaps using graphene they can make supercapacitors that will contain a large enough charge and can recharge extremely rapidly. The "improved" batteries that are around and being developed cause immense environmental damage since they use rare earths. Don't allow yourself to be insulted by people who have a better idea. We all have better ideas and very few of them work. Computer simulations would be more than sufficient to determine if there is a real improvement. Lower weight is of little value if you lose more efficiency.
  10. I hope you realize that what you are suggesting is that natural gas would be a lot easier to carry and could propel a bullet with a great deal less fuel that gunpowder? Far better to use the fuel itself than go through a couple of energy conversions.
  11. Municipal piping has been around for over 1000 years. During that time how has physics helped to unclog any drains? When you have a clogged drain do you call for a physicist or a chemist?
  12. Did you notice that he did not mention how the refraction patterns would be controlled? Or how they could be "combined and decoded"? I can see specific uses but have grave doubts that these things could be used for anything other than quite specific problems requiring individual construction. This is an analog device and not digital though it would be digitally controlled. Using light or superconductors all is limited by the SIZE of the components with which you can work. What he is talking about is a complete system on a chip and the very fact that he quotes Moore's Law should be a clue. If you cannot make transistors much smaller than they are presently getting you certainly are not going to improve on them a whole lot by using entire blocks of liquid crystals through which diffraction patterns can be formed only by turning a transistor on and off. Certainly an interesting idea but the the world is full of good ideas that can't be made to work though the limitations of physics.
  13. This is a lot more complicated problem than simply establishing the speed of "dissolvable solid" through "liquid". Firstly you have to know how rapidly the solid can dissolve into the liquid. With this as a frame of reference not only does the differences in specific gravity of the solid versus the liquid become important but the fact that the weight reduces more rapidly than the diameter of the solid which causes an apparent increase in drag slowing the solid more rapidly than the dissolution would imply. Also dissolution increases with the surface roughness. So if the solid does not dissolve linearly this can cause any number of actions from the change of shape either slowing or greatly increasing the speed of the solid via hydraulic drag. Since there are extremes such as lead falling through water or a small ball of baking soda falling though a column of boiling water each case has to be analyzed separately.
  14. I don't see how one could not understand that he has a clog below the trap. These normally occur where a drain T's into another pipe. Often these are caused by hair from a shower on the main line and are notoriously difficult to relieve since the corrosives that can be used, leak though too rapidly to be effective. The "water on top" would be the water normally caught in the trap as it is designed to do. If the sink fills up it also fills the line between the trap and the clog. At this time the sink will fill. Hair clogs usually leak slowly though and you leave the sink full and the next morning it will appear empty. For these problems you can usually spend more on goos and hand cleaning wires than getting a plumber in there in the first place. If the distance from the trap to the clog is very far it usually requires the services of a plumber with a motorized cleaning wire. Hopefully this is helpful but as you see instead of asking on a physics board which showed most people uneducated on these subjects he could have gone to a home repair site where the answers he got would have been both rapid and accurate.
  15. V = a*t a = (V2 – V1) * t KE = (1/2a) * V^2 Question – what mean the terms square for velocity and one half acceleration? Thought experiment: Draw a vector. The period (t) on the vertical axis and the speed (V) on the horizontal. Assume an acceleration for one second of 10 meters/sec. The vector speed caused by “acceleration” (a) going from zero at t = 0 to 10 at t = 1. If you graph this 4 x 4 you can see that the area under the ‘a’ line is half of the area or 2 squares. This area represents the kinetic energy or KE. If you draw another constant acceleration line at half of the acceleration you will see that the area under this line is ½ square or doubling the acceleration requires four times the energy to achieve the same speed as half the acceleration in the same period of time.
  16. Please forgive me but if you don't even know how plumbing works why are you posting on a Physics forum?
