  1. MOSCOW, Russia. CNN -- Millions of Muscovites have been advised to stay indoors as thick smoke from forest fires shrouded the city. Schoolchildren were kept inside and officials warned that pregnant women and people with heart conditions should take extra precautions as the fires raged in peat bogs and forests around the rim of the capital. CNN Weather anchor Guillermo Arduino described the smog as "unbearable" for Muscovites in one of the hottest summers on record. He said the area had registered its lowest rainfall for 30 years and the smoke from the forest fires had been trapped by a heavy retaining layer of air which had settled over the city. The carbon monoxide level is more than twice the maximum admissible concentration, the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry said. In St Petersburg a similar haze hung over the city as peat bogs burned around Russia's second city.
  2. That new galaxy is interesting Fafalone, I have yet to actually investigate object axial rotation rates, as I have not theory for this, and I am finding it hard to get data on all the moons of the solar system. Yes in our time frame, it all appears stable, well almost. Your bet is that the planets are relatively set in their orbits, moving in (as some think) or moving out ?
  3. Fafalone, even spiralling in/out planets is on a large time scale. With such small changes in our time it is extreemly difficult to say a system is :stable" especially when everything is moving, but logic would suggest that everything is doing something, and is not just staying :stable" Even the spiral galaxies had to have got their shape by a method, explosion and spin, or spin in/out. Just a thought
  4. Thanks, Aman, I am waiting to see what is behind that brass door. It is intriguing, what on earth would they have a brass door right down the bottom of a very narrow shaft, that not even a monkey could get into !
  5. What about with an expanding Universe model, how does this affect your thoughts on stability, Fafalone ?
  6. So Fafalone you appear to hold to a stable solar system, that is just waiting for the Sun to become a red drawf?? Nothing is moving away, nor inward ??
  7. Thanks for sharing that Aman, life can be cruel! Glad to hear it is raining. Great!!! In the West the fires are flaring again, and I read about a Tornado!! You just keep on in there Aman, just being on the net talking to people is a wonderful thing to do. In this way we all share, care, and learn, and just maybe we may prevent other people falling into some of the cruel traps set everywhere. >) >) >)
  8. You maybe right RadE, still working on data. I will just say this, the relationships are too good to be caused by multiple "attractions" or as you say "the centre of mass" as opposed to the central mass. Aman, Pluto is spiralling out, and as frame dragging makes all the orbits of the planets more eccentric, Pluto will one day just keep on going. Until more data is available, as Fafalone said, this can only be conjecture. I do think however that the mechanism is more related to what is moving around what, and this is not relative!
  9. So you are following this Fafalone! good From the last set of data you will see that Pluto is about to leave the solar system. Throught this approach I can say with accuracy (if I had the data) just how stable the various orbiting objects are in their orbits. You may also notice that the mass of the orbiting object is not relevant, it is only the central mass that is material to these calculations. The calculations employed averages and assumed circular orbits. The whole solar system is a wheels within wheels set up
  10. . Central Body ..... Mass X 10^24 kg ...... K/m X 10^-20 ... Earth ............ 5.97 ............ 6.683 ....Mars............. 0.642 ............6.6978 .... Jupiter........102 ................. 6.6666 .... Saturn .......568 ................6.6877 .....Uranus.........86.8..............6.690 .....Neptune ....102.................6.6978 .....Pluto............0.0125..........8.32 r m v^2 = Kuniversal = 6.6826 X 10^20 (Newtons Gravitational constant = 6.672 ) for any body, where v is the orbital velocity at the distance r, to the central mass. KE = r v^2 but v = w r so KE = r^2 w^2 so the energy required falls off at 1/r^2
  11. Wow Aman! Yes life's good here, plenty to drink, cleanest in the world, but some of the croppers are complaining. I will put in a pyramid soon if the slight lack of rain continues. But I have substantial storage in underground tanks, so I have no worries, At the moment I drink direct rain water, basically enough keeps falling to keep supplies up. At $1 a gallon water is quite a burden, but I have seen this type of buisness spring up everywhere. With out a doubt clean unpolluted water is the most precious substance. Have you thought about getting a water distiller. Better water, but worth it !
  12. You have to add 6400 km to the altitude, this is the radius of the Earth! It seems that this equation is fundamental to the Universe. Ksun = 1.327 X 10 ^11 Kearth = 3.99 X 10^5 K neptune 6.8 X 10 ^6 With these figures you can calculate either the velocity or the distance from the centre of ant body orbiting the central body. This is all I have found so far. There is much more to this....I will let you know :)
  13. Artificial satellites! http://spaceboy.nasda.go.jp/note/eisei/e/eis03_e.html altitude (kms) speed (kms/sec) 0 7.906 200 7.778 500 7.612 1000 7.350 5000 5.918 10000 4.934 30000 3.310 40000 2.932 rv^2 = K = 4 X 10^ 5
  14. Right on, Aman, it's not too late to stop extinction, but the number of people that may become victims, will certainly strain some relations. If people can keep their cool as others around them starve, LIFE on this planet may get through this trial. Fingers crossed!
  15. Seems a strange thought Aman ! but it would make desk storage quite compact. This concept of 0 degrees Kelvin is a little odd!. Since everything at this temperature becomes a solid, science has no means of going to a lower temperature. So we really do not know if this is a real limit or just a technical problem.
  16. I was just looking at satellite data, on altitude and velocity. The figures given obey the rv^2 =K rule. so v = (K/r) ^0.5 So all satellites, artificial or natural, and all planets obey this rule!
  17. Guess what we are the dirty THREE Canada, Australia and the USA !!! What will the world do if it is the layer of oil that is causing the chaos!!! Asia, Europe etc all use massive numbers of cars!! Oh, industry has it's fault, but if it's not "greenhouse gases" then there has to be a whole rethink ! Just a thought, just Aman !!
  18. A N A R C H Y Anarchy is the law that exists when there is no formal government; in other words it is the law that is dictated by the conscience. With the general level of mental decay today, anarchy has become a feared concept. A Stoic could only ratify sane anarchy. Such a 'self government' can be expressed as five degrees of freedom:- Freedom to BE Freedom to DO Freedom to SEE Freedom to THINK Freedom to SAY in three dimensions :- in complete TOLERANCE in complete SECURITY in complete TRUST
  19. Hey Cobbber, Tassie weather is becomming the best in the world, the four seasons, warm summer, warm winter, just right. The Antartic is calving ice berges, like really big ones, I will see if I can find the sizes, but over the last immediate years, there has been something like 25, all state size, and getting bigger each time!!! The Artic is evaporating directly, creating floods. The northern hemisphere is really copping it, and down south, there is only Australia that has both stable government and stable climate. AND I am here!
  20. Aman, to be a Stoic, means you must care for the LIFE you belong to. Our existence on this planet is not a preparation for death, it is a preparation for continued living, passing reverence onto our children, passing hope that we as a living part of LIFE, will protect and propogate our mothe (LIFE). Until this attitude is commonplace, we all will have to fight for continued existence, battling the spreading cancer of indifference. Metal poisioning has a major part to play in our present hed long rush to destruction. I feel if metal poisioning were treated, and a stoic like philosophy was universally adopted, then our world would soon be righted, and our children could inherit a truly wonderful future!! For me there is still hope, but arragant aggressive ignorance and vested interests are the negative forces that must be overcome. But first, a telling to the world is the first step, and all those that understand from their heart must join and become active in this fight for survival!!
  21. Well if you start looking at the mass of wants in the world, and the huge shortage of goods to fulfill the needs, yes the prognosis is not good, BUT, There are things happening, ideas, fundamental paradym shifts, that just maybe put us back on the right path for civilisation again. It could just happen, I am hopefull, maybe it will not happen in the immediate future, but there are signs of hope. Basically disaster can be a unifying force!! and the real problem is not now, but the future nows, long into the future!! :)
  22. Oh, it is really interesting living in this time in history. There is never a dull moment, and hopefully all our worries are only concerns, and the Good will prevail and we all the peoples of the world will get it together, and clean up the planet! Crosses fingers and legs!!
  23. The O is the Sun, but the mass of the Sun, is not material to the orbital speed and distance of planets from the Sun, but the Sun is a mass and as such it induces a magnetic field, which sets ups the field vortex for the solar system. BUT mass is is not attracting or repelling in any case. It is spin gravity that is in operation. Tell me what you think. :)
  24. Why, Rad E? Fafalone, yes you --------0------ is correct, but why the 0 ?
  25. Or give them all enought paper to make origami boats!
