  1. Sorry i didn't read your post closely enough. I'm not quite sure... but if it ionizes before the equation it shouldm't make a difference if the ions are in solution or not. I think the end products will be the same. ~Scott
  2. I think this is what you are looking for... The net ionic equation is NH4+ + OH- + H+ + Cl- = NH4Cl + H2O The half equations are NH4OH = NH4+ + OH- HCl = H+ + Cl- ~Scott
  3. We did the balloon thing in chem as well, we used something called the Hoffman(?) apparatus. It collects the gases in chamber so you can let it out with a valve that worked pretty well. Makng something similar to one of those is probably your best bet, maybe you can borrow one from your school, if they will let you. Also I think our teacher added H2SO4 as well to spead up the electrolysis but seeing as you have metal in there thats probably not a good idea. ~Scott
  4. Hey, I'm considering doing the reduction buddwraaagh suggested, but im a little uncertain about how to get liquid ammonia... Is there any other way apart from say pressurising the gas (something I don't have the rescources for). ~Scott
