  1. Is mild white turbidity a positive result for iodoform test in a sample suspected to contain ethanol??

Also shouldnt glucose n other sugars also show positive for test for alcoholic group....what bt iodoform test with glucose ?

  2. For sure this is the color of cu2o but depending upon the size of the lattice...the color can even be yellow or green even( as observed in a benedicts test)...

And the solution turned yellow just due to the suspended particles of cu2o while the electrolysis goes on....

What i observed was that more of yellow cu2o was produced than cu(oh)2 and black cuo was never produced(being in water cu(oh)2 cant dehydrate)

At first even i was surprised and thought that the the electrode is an alloy...but then i tried with pure copper strip ..the results were same

  4. This is for a science event at some school....ill be doing this at thr level of my school lab

Nd the link is only a reference

Idont want to quantify it but just show the presence of cyanide ion qualitatively....

But yes i want to be safe and precautious thats why im finding the safest way....

Im really determined.....and picric acid is available in my school lab

  5. Im working for a project wherein i want to show the presence of cyanide in apricot kernels or bitter almond

Test for cn- will be dn once i get cn- ,

I need some help regarding how must i go about hydrolysing the amygdalin to get cn-,....iv seen methods like using sulphuric acid and then picric acid.....

Will i get good results and how ???

Also cyanide will be produced in dissolved state or gas?

  6. What is the general principle of reaction chemistry?

Is it justifying observed reactions theoritically or

Predicting the mechanism of reaction in theory and matching with the experimental reaction....

For instance...reaction of flourine with water

One way to work this out is by analysing the bonds and intermediates theoritically to find d products and then matching with the one that occurs in experiment

Other is to carry out d reaction practically and analyze the products and thereafter justifying why the reaction takes place that way
