  1. Hi! I am writing a short novel where the manipulation of Boltzmann constant is the key idea of the plot. I suppose this constant is not constant under especial conditions. A quantum computer use the increasing of available microstates in order to resemble a kind of "Maxwell's Demon" to reduce the entropy. What do you think about this? In science fiction, I have only read "The Practice Effect" by David Brin that is related also to decreasing entropy. But in this novel is not clear the mechanism and I want to give a more scientific point of view to my novel. I have written a half part of my novel and I want to publish online like ebook. I appreciate your opinions.
  2. Well, I didn't yet try to use an electromagnet with this ferrofluid. I have an idea about to dismount an speaker to bring closer the ferrofluid and to use a periodical acoustical signal, e.g. using Audacity. It is not possible to open the bottle for safety reasons. When I have a ferrofluid that I can measure I will try to measure its conductivity. I mean to buy only the ferrofluid, not the complete kit that I have with magnets and bottle with ferrofluid and the other transparent liquid.

  4. I try this with many glass at home and I didn't observe any fluorescence... but with virgin olive oil you can observe this phenomenon, also. I show this in the next photograph:
  5. The lasers of 532 nm and 405 nm have 30 mW and 5 mW, respectively.

  7. Hello, I made a fluorescence beam in a glass prism with two lasers of different wavelength. Did anybody try this before? With a 532 nm laser I saw a red beam inside and using another of 405 nm I obtained a yellow ray. You can see this experiment in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uOtIWizpZw Thank you!
