  1. I don't understand the difference between current and voltage. Aren't they proportional ?
  2. Is there a relation between the spin of the particles and the magnitude of their magnetic moment ?
  3. What is the relation between the spin of the particles and magnetic dipole moment ?
  4. What does the spin of the particles says like 1/2, 2/3, 5/2 ?
  5. So in silver atoms there is one electron spin un in 5s shell. How they where deflected in two directions ?
  6. How they knew about electrons if they shoot atoms ? and also why they didn't shoot electrons with an electron gun ? (it wasn't knew ?)
  7. What i didn't understood well is Stern Gerlach experiment. And my question is that they found out that electrons have a north and south pole magnet, and half of them went up and half down trought the magnets ? I know that they shoot silver atoms, so how they know about the electrons spin ?
  8. I started getting confused again as i reading and watching this figure. How do i apple the right hand rule here ? In the direction of the current ? And also how do i know the direction of the current ? So when i apply the right hand rule, it's only in the direction of the current.
  9. Here is a video showing... How do i apply the right hand rule here ?
  10. I think i start to get it. I'm gonna read further on the subject to understand better.
  11. Which is the direction of the current ? Is the same as as electrons flowing in one direction ?
  12. So when the wire is atracted and when is repeled by the magnetic field ?
  13. What do i understand by this picture ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Regla_mano_derecha_Laplace.svg I don't get it. Why is the force on 90 degrees and not in the same dirrection as the magnetic field?
  14. I was reading about the Hall Effect and i thought i understood it, then as I was reading further I don't. What i understood is that if you place a magnet near a copper wire the electrons go in the opposite direction. Theory says that a curent is flowing trough the wire from top to bottom, and the driftting electrons are flowing from bottom to the top. And this is confusing. What do i miss in my knowledge ? And second i was reading about Magnetic force exerted on a current carryin wire. I attach a picture . Can someone explain teach me the intuition of thing in the picture ?
  15. I wanted to post something which now i don't ! How do i delete this post ?
  16. Is it a relation between electron spin and direction in wich is rotating on the orbit clockwise or counter clockwise. My question is in wich direction is spinning electron with spin up (clockwise or counter clockwise) ? Thanks !
  17. So in a magnet all the electrons in an atom ar orbiting clockwise or counter clockwise ? I am a little bit confused. And i don't intend to bother someone. I think i started to get it. In every orbit there are two electrons one spinning clockwise and one counter clockwise. Hmm... So what happens in a magnet is that on one side of the magnet all electrons that not have a match on the orbit are spinning in one direction and on the other pole of the magnet all electrons that not have a match spin in oposite direction ? Thanks !
  18. So electrons already have magnetic moment north and south, and when they are flowing they create a magnetic filed by the right hand rule if i understand well ? What about magnets ?
  19. So how the magnetic filed are created by moving charges ?
  20. What about the magnetic propreties of electron ? Are the electrons of two types: North magnetc pole and South magnetic pole ?
  21. These image says that electron it's spinning around it's axis. http://www.google.ro/imgres?imgurl=http://www.magnet.fsu.edu/education/tutorials/magnetminute/images/emr.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.magnet.fsu.edu/education/tutorials/magnetminute/emr.html&h=307&w=398&sz=9&tbnid=CiTPXXYn8idAeM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=117&zoom=1&usg=__ecmvSdllUzubgBAnYjpVv3yc1BA=&docid=cMVzmWK6FNN0NM&sa=X&ei=ACZyUrvHJInHsgavnoH4Dg&ved=0CGEQ9QEwBg
  22. What n, l, m and s values refer too ?
  23. And what is spin up and spin down.
  24. I can't really understand electron spin. Is it rottation along it's axis ? Thanks !
