  1. Well if the universe was still infinate it would work, and also be able to recurse too. but you could make a lot of processors even with a finite universe!
  2. I believe it would be theoreticly possibe to create a universe. If you have infinate processing power you could execute infinatly complex programs. What if it were possible to build a 'robotic computational entity' embryo that that has the ability to harvest space dust, gases and astral bodies. The entity would be able to evolve itself by producing processors, memory units and more robotic units to increase harvisting and manufacturing potential. The entity would have to be able to program itself using evolutional agorithms and it's purpose to write the most complex programs possible. Some problems for it to think about would be to write classes for atoms, protein, dna and planets Then you realese it into space and wait for it to eventualy consume the entirety of our universe and simulate another one.
  3. How are emotions and brain wave emissions related, I would guess the emotion is a result of a set of very personal brain functions, and the EMs a result of a bunch of synapitc chemistry. If so how can the recorded waves induce or enhance brain chemistry. Wouldn't different people require a different set of brain functions to obtain a similar emotion, hense different wave patterns? May be abit off topic but it amazes me how light and sound waves can be used to convey emotions. At concerts perhaps the fact that there are many people experiencing the same emotion can heighten the experience. I have also known straight people who felt as if they have taken LSD while in the middle of a lysergic party(probably unknowingly swaged from the wrong cup:-).
  4. I thimk it would still stand: it stands cos the force is being thrown perpendicular to the axis equally in all directions so having 2 spheres spining in opposite directions should still have the same effect, only stronger.
  5. I can't see why not, but have read somewhere that you must neutralize the acetic with sodium hydroxide then distill the sodium acetate with sulphuric acid.
  6. Can you distill acetic acid with a fractioning column?
  7. I may be wrong i am noob but i think Acids combine with alkali metals to create a metalic salt in this case ca chloride if you cool or evaporate the solution you might be left with zinc chloride. Zn + HCl -> ZnCl + H I dont know why it would be purple. Depending on reactivity series i think salts will react with acids and the metal may displace hydrogen in the acid to make a new salt and acid i.e H2SO4 + 2NaCl -> 2HCl + Na2SO4
  8. thanks, what equations can be used to calculate the current produced?
  9. I like carrots so maybe that's why i said carrot. A mate used to jibe me calling me a carrot cos i was vegie, not a parsnip of broccoli! maybe carrots are the most popular vegtable, they are cetainly one of the most snazzy looking vegtables about plus they are nice. My dad said marrow, but thats a fruit so doen't count. could it be because it has 6 letters?
  10. Can somebody help me understand the various parameters of and their effect upon the power generated by an altenator. I would like to experiment with them, but have some idea of how various designs will produce electicity before I start building stuff. I am guessing the strength of the magnets, their distance to the coil and the length of the coils will affect the power of the current and that the number of coils/magnets, the distance between each coil/magenet and the rpm of the system will affect frequency and voltage of the current but iam unsure. what about the numer of turns in the coils and diameter of the coil wire and the core material of the coils? I was also wondering about the air between the stator and magnets, would different gasses produce better / worst inductance? i wouldn't imagine it would but you never know.
  11. well thats the thing he's on about: http://www.esci.keele.ac.uk/geophysics/kage/ and the bizzare cables would be 100MB/s network cables. Your right it'd be crap for Quake3!
  12. Aye, have you heard of altnet? I can't recall the owner of the network, but it's packaged with freeware like gain and all that crap. It's processing time is sold for things like weather calculations and genome processing. Sounds pretty cool technology, and I guess it could be hacked! I might have a poke around with the exe, I wonder how the listening process differentiates between bonafide altnet instructions and hacker joe's sam file cracking.
