Singlet/triplet oxygen absorption spectrum

When observing the absorption spectrum of a planet, I would like to know does a singlet dioxygen make a difference from a triplet dioxygen in the spectrum?

 

Also, does being in the state of singlet/doublet affects how oxygen molecules cluster?
