Blog post: Popcorn Sutton: My new book!

Featured Replies

Hi everyone!

I let the moderators know that I wasn't going to showcase my book on the forums, and so I will not. But, after reading a few websites on book promotions, I've learned that blogs are one of the best resources to get the word out there, so I hope that they do not mind me blogging about my writing (because this is my favorite website and I do enjoy the discussions I have here). I fully intend on continuing to publish more books, so keep posted because I will be talking about them here. My most recent publication is going to be free for a 3-day promotional period starting today (Tuesday, January 21st, 2014) until Thursday (January 23rd, 2014). The book is on Scientocracy, and it's about a method that I think would be really useful for governments to employ, both on small scales as well as large scales. I started the book about a week ago, and I published it within 4 days of starting it (lol), so please excuse me if you think that it is poorly written. I am still editing the book (like most authors do, even after they publish it), and any feedback or review on the book would be highly appreciated. I've decided to publish it anonymously so as to protect myself in case someone decides to lash out irrationally. This book is about Scientocracy, with a subtitle of "The Proliferation of Science in Identifying Significant Issues". Sounds interesting right? Actually, after talking with a bunch of people about the book, it seems to me that it's one of those mind-blowing titles that people just don't tend to find interesting (and, as many big thinkers say, discoveries really aren't interesting, but the implications are). Well, I never wanted to publish anything fictional, and ever since I started writing about my ideas, I've done it for the sole sake of making the world a better place, and I intend to keep doing that. So, if you miss the promotional period and decide to spend the money on my book, I really appreciate it. I've come to realize (slowly) that I am, in all actuality, a writer, and that maybe this can work out for me. I've come to realize that when I write about things that I am passionate about, I love the discussion and I love to see people get involved, so why not try to make some money off of it? Well, this book only comes out to 67 pages, and it did only take 4 days from start to published, but, at that rate, it really is no effort for me to "pump these things out", and it cost me nothing to publish it either, so it really is a win win for me. Anyways, thanks for checking it out, thanks for the support if you decide to buy it, and thanks for reviewing it and giving me your opinions for future edits :)
