I don't really know how you'd go about defining a hole in a thing without referring to that thing.

Well as said you have to define "hole".

A hole is a hollowed place in something solid, so the question of whether it can move at all is debateable.

If the donught moves through the air, the content of the hole will not move, however the area which we call the hole will move.

It comes back to asking the person who asked the question 'what exactly did you mean?'

Well done Sayonara; your doughnut theory is absolutely excelent... that hole as we interpetate it is indeed nothing, but yet it has a speed as it's governed by the matter that surrounds it! Now I wonder if there is a principal here by your theory, maybe the basis of how black holes work? WE know they are there; can we see them? I don't know can their power come from a source ouside or is their power only within? I don't know but it's great asking all you guys because unlike me you're all clever thanks for all your posts everyone it's great learning....US.2U :)

that doesn't quite work!

the whole point was that if the hole was the air it doesnt move.

however if the hole is the area formed between the perimeter of the center of the donught then it does move with the donught.

I don't quite see the link to your black hole thing, the whole thing with this thread is the varying definitions of the same word... but lets leave that out of here!

Well you're probarly right 5614 but I will close on this thread; as Sayonara, to me at least has finished my quest for the answer I was looking, for it makes a lot of sense to me... Sayonara..."EUREEKA! YOU'VE FOUND IT" Please don't think I'm being sarcastic I'm not, but I think you are proberly the most intellectual on here; also a lot of others I believe are close; but at the begining of my post when I asked "what is the speed of dark" yours is the only answer in my humble mind I can accept....Thank-you....us.2u :)
