Chem vs Chem Eng

Featured Replies

I want to do research, especially in an area like nanotech or materials. So, in regards to this, should I do a Phd in chemical engineering or chemistry for a research career in these areas?

I'm leaning a bit to chemE because nanotech is engineering after all, and I have heard that learning chemE gives you more of an all round knowledge. But, then again, in chemistry I would get to learn a lot more about organic, inorganic and other stuff. But, I'm not totally sure and would like to hear you opinion.

I'm currently doing my ug in chemE.

Don't you have to take organic for chemE? All my friends did...there shouldn't be too much of a difference in required Chem classes
