Real-Time PCR hybridization probes

Hi everybody

 

Has anybody ever used FAM (donor) and HEX (acceptor) as the two probes in a hybridization probe assay? Are they spectrally far enough separated from each other so the emission of FAM won't interfere with that of HEX? And also, has anybody ever used this on a Bio-Rad CFX96 instrument? Just want to make sure the instrument will be able to perform my assay.
