Hi all, does anyone have any knowledge on ferrofluids here? Is it more of a chemistry question? Anyway saw this article in the new scientist magazine regards ferrofluid for central heating. It seemed like a reasonable idea and wondered if anyone on here could see why it may not be viable.

Secondly, does anyone have a fairly basic formula/calculator for predicting energy consumption of solenoids.
