magnets

Featured Replies

i am looking to order some super-strength magnets, but i am confused by something it says

on one product it says: '26kg pull (South)' and on another, otherwise identical product, it says: '26kg pull (North)'

what is the difference between these two magnets?

surely they both have a north and a south pole...?

A pack of 1 - 25mm dia x 20mm thick with 6mm counterbored hole N52 Neodymium Magnet. The NORTH pole is on the counter bored face and the SOUTH pole is on the opposite face. These Magnets are plated with 3 layers of protective coatings - Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni-Cu-Ni).

The magnets have a hole drilled through so they can be attached with a screw. One side of the hole is counterbored so that the screw head will fit in the hole. Which pole will be outwards facing when screwed down (ie which pole/faced is counterbored) is the difference
