Combining Replies

I really try hard not to do this, but sometimes if no one responds I post more onto a post and it gets merged. The problem with this is sometimes with the post merged it makes it hard to make sense of the order of thoughts that are occurring. I prefer not to edit in edits after I post because it makes it look like I modified something much later and me editing my posts in the first place should probably stop, but honestly I make so many damn wording mistakes.

I would like to submit to SFN the suggestion that in fact the merging of posts by the same user should be switched off.
