  1. 1. Anyone think quantum/atomic transistors will eventually do away with Moores law?

This seems to be the culmination of a decades work within a number of Universities including the University of New South Wales and Harvard. The real scientific 'hype' seems to be related to what is known as the Kondo Effect and the Coulomb Blockade. It looks like five years ago they were working with quantum dots with ~170 donors and have reduced it to dimolecules as well as single atom species--although I am finding it difficult to procure a developed paper on the single atom species. A brief review of some papers suggest there will be issues in implementation as the temperature seems to be around 30K. Harvard seems to be working on a diVanadium equivalent . . . . I think Moore's law is kind of stupid! >:|

note: the transistor consists of much, much more than simply the active components
