How to observe swollen cell containing spore?

In the identification chart given by Bergey's manual, in the flowchart for the identification of Bacillus spp. there is a test written as swollen cell (containing spore) for voges-proskaeur test negative organisms?

 

I wanted to know the test principle and procedure.
