hello everyone. i've been trying to simplify this function

 

(y' + x).(y + z).

 

i've done a little simplification but i'm finding it hard to finish.. Here's what i've done

 

= yy' + y'z + xy + xz (yy' = 0)

= y'z + xy + xz

 

the final answer is y'z + xy.. (i don't how to get here, i have no idea), and i also don't want to use K-maps..

 

Any help is appreciated very much.. Thanks..

y'z + xy + xz = y'z + xy + xz(y + y') = y'z + xy + xzy + xzy' = (y'z + y'xz) + xy + xzy = y'(z +xz) + (x +xz)y = y'z +xy
