i was wondering how you find how many electron have been removed if the resultant charge is +3.38 pC (3.38x10-12C).

given the charge of an electron being -1.60*10^-19 C

Look at the units. You have a charge in C, and you know the charge per electron so what would you do to have your answer come out in electrons?

perhaps divide the electron charge into the systems charge...

Yep, thats how you would do it! Since if do that you would have:

[math]\frac{Charge}{\frac{Charge}{Electron}}=Electrons[/math]
