Q: I have AISI 304 Stainless steel as a base metal for thin film deposition. The main alloying elements except of Fe are Cr (18%) and Ni (8%). So, i've coated the steel with pure Si using sputtering method. Then i use heat treatment to obtain intermetallic phase between film-substrate. So i just want to know between Cr and Ni, which one is more tend to react with Si beside Fe??.
