Packet Sniffing.

Featured Replies

Hi, I am using CommView 4.1 PacketSniffer, when i start it up im getting an error, "failed to enumerate network adapters", if anyone has any idea on why this is happening / how to fix it, please reply, thanks.

i dont think that your packet sniffer can recognise your network adapter i.e. either your router, modem, hub or maybe your NIC [network interface card].

i'll look into the problem tomorrow, going out now! :D

try using a different packet sniffer such as:

As for the sniffer, I use Ethereal

Also one site I can recommend is Security Focus

just to check its not a problem with the sniffer.

what is a packet sniffer? what do u want it for?

"failed to enumerate network adapters", are you on a dialup connection? If so you could try installing the dialup (RAS) driver under the SETTINGS menu.
