I recently saw a video of someone truning a penny a silver color and then a gold color. I know he used sodium hydroxide and zinc powder, can anyone tell me how to make these 2 products?

You can use batteries bell-type for get zinc and reacting zinc with sulfuric acid then make the electrolysis of ZnSO4.

sodium hydroxide is hard to make but you can get from crystal drain cleaner.
