Making Potassium salt FROM KNO3

Featured Replies

I have looked around the threads here, and have seen plenty on how to make KNO3 from various other compounds, but I was hoping to find something that will help me do the reverse. I know that you can buy some potassium compounds cheaply, but I just want to try to make one for the hell of making it. I know that generally speaking, pretty much all potassium and nitrate compounds are soluble, so making another compound won't be easy, but I was hoping that someone could help me. I know that one of the products of combustion of KNO3 and glucose is KOH, though that is lost as smoke, and I would think would be difficult to capture. Any help on this topic would be much appreciated :)
