I am at a stand still with what to do for my lab. Below is the information that I have been given as well as a Histology report. For my first day in lab i need to decide what tests i should run to determine what kind of molecules is building up. ie. Protein, Nucleic acid, lipid, carb... etc What would your suggest for test to determine what kind of compound i have. I do have access to the crude material. Thanks!

Histology: Kidney, bone marrow, liver. All were stained with H and E then washed with ethanol. Where the build ups were located are now holes. So the ethanol must have destroyed the compound that is building up.

A 6 month old who was recently seen at the medical center. She appeared to be a normal baby until about three months ago when the parents started describing “feeding problems” that was eventually classified as a “failure to thrive” by the medical community. By 5 months of age Angela exhibited unexplained fevers and occasional vomiting. Within the last couple of weeks it has become apparent that she is losing both hearing and her vision. In addition, her muscles are becoming progressively more rigid. With the exception of neurological tests all other physical examination maneuvers were unremarkable. The neurological tests suggested a systemic problem with abnormal neurological responses pointing to a neurodegenerative disease.
