chemistry equations

Featured Replies

I am having trouble understanding chemical equation, well mostly this one here....

When hydrochloric acid (hydrogen chloride) is released in the air, the oxygen reacts with it to produce chlorine gas and water. If you use 20.0 L oxygen, how much hydrogen chloride (in g) could you react with it to use the oxygen?

IGNORE THIS POST!!!

THE PROPER VERSION IS FURTHER DOWN

HCl = 1 part Hydrogen and 1 part Chlorine

H20 = 1 part Hydrogen and 2 parts Oxygen

if you have 20 parts oxygen, how many parts of Hydrogen will you need to make H2O?

try to look at it that way :)

H20 = 1 part Hydrogen and 2 parts Oxygen

Isn't it two parts hydrogen one part oxygen?

LOL, Oooops My bad !

yes you`re quite right, it was early <insert excuse>

I`ll edit it :)

the correct version:

HCl = 1 part Hydrogen and 1 part Chlorine

H20 = 2 parts Hydrogen and 1 part Oxygen

if you have 20 parts oxygen, how many parts of Hydrogen will you need to make H2O?

try to look at it that way :)

thnx for the heads up Aommaster :)

naah, it was entirely my mistake, I am part Human afterall :))
