is there any way to find out the speed of the RAM without taking apart my computer, not that i cant, but i had to do it last week when i added my HDD, so if its in the BIOS or somewhere else its quicker to access i would like to know

I use a prog called "perfomance test" (very original I know, LOL)

have you tried the one Apollo mentioned in post #4?

also I rem in the old 286 days and upwards, we had a prog called "Checkit", that would tell you :)

how can i get these programs, i dont have internet on the computer @ home im talking about with the RAM, but ive got internet in other places like the other computer at home, so i can download it there, [i know i need a network, im getting it soon]

can`t you burn it to a CD, or write to a floppy if it`s not too big a file?

we call it "Sneaker Net" here :)

failing that, eamil it to your other `puter or just upload it to your webspace, and then DL it from home and sneaker net it? I often use my web space as backup :)

yeah but how do i get it, i can load it to a floppy disk but i need to download it first, where can i download it from?

go to here: http://www.sisoftware.net/

select the appropriate type using the Clicky thingies, and it should DL to your HDD :)

then just copy it from there to your floppy (if the file isn`t too big) or a CD :)

just the same as you would with any other s/ware :)

ok, thnx, its funny how virtual memory goes to memory/RAM etc, does RAM auto detect/instal itself, or do you have to format it like a HDD, bascially is it plug 'n' play

RAM`s automaticaly picked up long before windblows even boots up :)
