Hi there

 

I was wondering if someone could give me a description of how the tests that you use to identify anions and cations actually works

 

I did this experiment at college but don't know it actually works lol

I'm not sure... first thing that comes to mind that works with charged particles is the mass spectrometer... but maybe that's not what you're looking for.

 

Did you do precipitation tests? XRD?

 

We might require a bit more information, or a member who was in the same college as you.
