I need to work out a perctange yield for my experiment, however i am having trouble balancing the equation.

 

H2SO4 + C6H5Br + HNO3 --------------> C6H4BrNO2 + H2O

 

this is what i have so far.. but there is no S on the right side of the equation.... im very confused.

H2SO4 is basically a catalyst, it is returned at the end

hye . you can't calculate the exact percentage of the product by simple chemical equation because their are other factors which affect the reaction rate for ex relative proportion of h2so4 and hno3 , effect of bromine , and the most factor orientation i.e. o and para product . i know these makes your problem more complicated but ........

vedmecum, i think that aaronaldo is saying he wants to find the percentage yield based on an actual yield he has either got or been given.
