Calculating concentraction of acid

Featured Replies

it depends on the acid and the things you know about it.

If you diluted an acid that you knew the concentration of, you can use some simple math.

If you have a strong acid you can use its pH to find its concentration, and if you have a weak acid you can also use the pH, but it's a bit more difficult. You can also use the density to find the concentration sometimes

And, of course, there's always a titration.

How would you be able to determine the concentration of H2SO4 in H2O using pH indicator?

pH = -log[[ce]H3O+[/ce]]

So. If you know the pH, you find the concentration of [ce]H3O+[/ce], and since it's a strong acid, you can assume that is also the concentration of the acid.
