Experiment: Duckies and the Doppler Effect

Featured Replies

You probably hear this every day, that weird phenomenon sounds makes when it whooshes you by quickly. In fact, the entire ‘whoosh’ effect - that ‘zzzzzzzzzzzhoooooooom!’ that seems all children are familiar with and use as a description for a passing car is a great hint that something is going on.

I'm in love. :eyebrow:

Oh(!) the vid yes. (focus)

Another great explanation, nice visuals.

For instance how moving the duckies actually create shorter waves so visibly in front of it. Really cool being able to see the effects in action that simply.

A couple of your vids do perhaps make it difficult to concentrate on the subject, but as a good quality....where I'm now unlikely to forget anything learned :D
