I want to manufacture NaOh from scratch with electrolysis. I need to go to sleep been reading a really good book about chemistry. So if you have idea please post. I will join the discussion when I get a good night sleep.

So if saltwater counts as from scratch, then that's all you really need to know!

 

There's also a way to make lye from birch ash, limestone and water, but you probably want electrolysis...

If you want NaOH why not just buy Draino, that is NaOH.
