problem related to normal forces

Featured Replies

Is it correct to say that" if we reduce the normal forces acted upon us nd other bodies to zero, than the whole universe will reduce to small lump?

Im not really sure about this but i will take a stab at it.

i looked up the definition and Wikipedia (sorry) says that ,"normal force is the component (perpendicular to the surface of contact) of the contact force exerted by, for example, the surface of a floor or wall, on an object, preventing the object from entering the floor or wall."

it also says, "If an object hits the surface with some speed, the normal force provides for a rapid negative acceleration, depending on how flexible the floor/wall is"

So from these two statements i suppose it is possible that the universe might reduce to small lumps. If these statements wernt true, then a moving object would not be stoped by contact force, and so would pass right through it. i suppose it would all gather up at a gravitational center. maybe it would be many small lumps

i dont really know so dont take my word for it.
