bob000555
Does anyone know if the reaction of di- or trichloromethane with silver nitrate is possible as in CH2Cl2 + 2AgNO3 -> CH2(NO3)3 + 2 AgCl or CHCl3 + 3 AgNO3 -> CH(NO3)3 + 3 AgCl ? And does anyone also know about the same reaction with silver nitrite?
Mr Skeptic
What for? Are you trying to make explosives of some kind? That looks rather dangerous...
bob000555
I was just wondering if its possible for the organic dichloromethane to go through the typicly organic silver nitrate(or nitrite) process. And I suppose it would make a rather good explosive…but I digress.
