We can't use the number "7", so we count like this:

 

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20, ... 65, 66, 68, 69, 80, 81, 82, 83, 84, ...

 

What is the 2007th number? (And how can you count it out?)

This is just asking "what is 2007 in base 9, with symbols 1,2,3,4,5,6,8,9,0?"
