Is it hypothetically safe to mix potassium ferrocyanide with a weak acid like citric acid at room temperature, or would this produce deadly cyanide fumes, and it's best not to do this?

 

I'm guessing it's probably not safe, and I wouldn't try this myself or reccomend it.

 

I need to point out that I speak of potassium ferrocyanide, and not the much more toxic and dangerous potassium cyanide. The reason why I ask this is purely academic and from a hypothetical standpoint.

potassium ferro cyanide and and citric acid will bore you to death, that`s about the only lethality of that mix

nope, it would do a thing other remain a mix of 2 chemicals, there would be no reaction take place, and contrary to popular beleif, Cyanide gas isn`t as deadly as it`s portrayed on TV

H2S is far more lethat as a gas (the stuff that makes stink bombs smelly).

 

here`s just a quick question for you though, what does it look like, solid or liquid, what color etc...?
